POSITION MISSION

  • To prepare, lead and manage all costing and pricing aspects of a tender within the tender team (from Business Opportunity identification to Award)
  • To support development of target cost, cost consolidation and cost challenge per subsystem
  • To support the Project team on costing aspects until the first critical milestones of the project

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

  • Prepare quick costing during pretendering phase, based on product cost database and return of experience from project execution
  • Define the cost structure for the bid according to RFP (terms and conditions, etc), sales requirements, etc
  • Lead cost estimation activities with all functions such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance etc
  • Lead cost improvement actions to reach tender cost /target price using all competitiveness levers, and challenge the contributors
  • Lead a collaborative work with Finance to optimize Financial costs (bonds, financing, hedging, insurance, taxes, etc), and to improve overall competitiveness of the bid
  • Control the level of robustness of the costing (consistency between scope of work, costing received and planning)
  • Prepare the Costing package and lead together with the Sales team the bid review process
  • Develop cost models and scenario analysis to be presented in bid reviews to top management
  • Recommend GO-No GO strategies based on factual data based on costbenefit analysis
  • Prepare the pricing sheet for the customer
  • Lead cost estimation activities, in coordination with Sales team, for changes discussed with the customer during negotiation phase and update the cost commitment
  • Support on demand the Project team on costing for variation orders
  • Coordinate the pricing strategy of key tenders based on information on competition and market dynamics

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Engineering
or business degree

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in cost management on projects or bids
  • Experience in railway, an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, mandatory
  • Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
  • Be resultsoriented and show ability to delivery milestones ontime
  • Fluent in English mandatory
