About the Role


As the Line Leader, you will report to the Operations Leader and be responsible for overseeing the assigned production lines.

Your main focus will be to ensure production is carried out according to plan, while maintaining safety standards, quality, and optimizing costs and materials.

Additionally, you will work on improving machine efficiency and developing the capabilities of the team.

This positon will be based in our Lucca's Plants


What You Will Do

  • Minimize production costs by adhering to rigorous process, quality, and maintenance standards, reducing stops and scraps.
  • Lead daily direction setting meetings to align team objectives.
  • Plan and execute pit stops and maintenance activities with the support of the Technical Group.
  • Identify and propose solutions to eliminate sources of contamination.
  • Train team members according to their individual learning plans.
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Schedule production activities to meet service level objectives according to the agreed plan.
  • Conduct quality checks and process checks (centerlining) on products, implementing Continuous Improvement Initiatives (CIL).
  • Maintain workplace standards in the assigned area of responsibility. Coordinate and perform maintenance activities with the support of the maintenance planner and scheduler, including during downtimes.
  • Develop a skill matrix for the team, create standard procedures and training materials, and provide training to team members.
  • Support team members in reporting defects, identifying problems, and implementing countermeasures through line reports and logbooks.
  • Attend and lead weekly meetings with process engineers to address chronic losses and collect relevant data on machine efficiency, downtime, and quality
  • Conduct yearly performance evaluations, set goals, and develop plans for team members
  • Organize and execute daily pit stops
  • Take ownership of the overall plan to close performance gaps on assigned lines in all SQCDM areas

Who You Are

  • High school diploma with technical specialization or Engineering degree.
  • Minimum of two to three years of experience in Converting as a Process Engineer or similar roles.
  • Knowledge of line processes such as Web Handling, Core making, Lamination, Rewinding, Packaging machines. Ability to draw process diagrams and identify components and sensors.
  • Ability to operate machines, perform changeovers, and make basic repairs.
  • Understanding of personal safety, machine technical safety, chemicals safety, quality checks and systems, and cost administration.
  • Proficiency in people management, including labor contracts, local agreements, goal setting, and deployment.
  • Familiarity with standard operating procedures, process control (centerline, CPE), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles such as Autonomous Maintenance, Progressive Maintenance, Focused Improvement, 5S, and SMED.
  • Expertise in creating and executing CIL (Continuous Improvement Leadership) and CL (Centerline) activities.
  • Proficiency in office packages, Outlook, and internet usage.
