As a Utilities Process Engineer Expert at SAIPEM SPA, you will contribute to designing utilities and water treatment systems for the energy and infrastructure sectors.

    Our Team

    You will join our Department TEAM (Technology based Activities and Methods), which focuses on process design for utilities, offsite, and water treatment units. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Defining utilities requirements and developing heat and material balances using simulation software
    • Creating utilities flow diagrams to show unit operations
    • Designing equipment and instrumentation, issuing relevant process data sheets and duty specifications
    • Elaborating piping and instrumentation diagrams (PIDs)
    • Developing cause and effect matrices
    • Creating control narratives and logic sequences
    • Performing hydraulic and thermal calculations on piping systems
    • Defining chemicals and catalysts requirements
    • Supporting the preparation of operating manuals and test run procedures
    • Taking part in multidisciplinary project reviews
    • Ensuring utilities systems comply with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and best practices

    Qualifications

    To succeed in this role, you should have a degree in Chemical Engineering, good English language skills (written and spoken), and around 10 years of experience in similar positions. You should also be familiar with software commonly used in utility design and water treatment systems, such as Pipenet, Aspen Flare System Analyzer, Thermoflow, and Hysys, as well as drawing mark-up tools like Bluebeam or Autocad.
