A marine organisation is seeking an experienced Motorman to support engine room maintenance and repair activities on vessels operating across European ports, with occasional assignments in the USA and South America.

This role involves working as part of a mobile technical team, supporting mechanical repair works, machinery maintenance, and engine room interventions during vessel port calls and repair campaigns.

The Role

You will assist with hands-on mechanical work in engine rooms, supporting the overhaul, repair, and maintenance of marine machinery while vessels are alongside in port or undergoing repair works.

This is a practical mechanical position, requiring strong experience working with marine diesel engines and auxiliary systems.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with engine room maintenance and repair activities

Support overhaul and servicing of marine diesel engines and generators

Maintain and service pumps, compressors, and auxiliary machinery

Assist with fuel, lubrication, and cooling system maintenance

Support technical teams during vessel repair and maintenance campaigns

Work safely within engine room and shipboard mechanical environments

Prepare and assist with basic maintenance reporting

Ideal Candidate Profile

Previous experience working as a Motorman / Engine Room Rating

Strong hands-on experience with marine diesel engines and auxiliary machinery

Experience supporting engine room maintenance or ship repair works

Comfortable working within engine room and mechanical environments

EU Passport or existing Right to Work in Italy required (No visa sponsorship available)

English language required, Italiano a big plus
