Internship in Banqueting & Events - Season 2023

Our iconic Villa San Michele, a Belmond Hotel, located in Fiesole (Florence), is looking for an intern in the Banqueting & Events Office for the 2023 season (ideal start between April and May, duration 6 months) in order to create memorable events, parties and weddings in our lush private gardens or by our legendary pool.

The intern will learn the main tasks of the Banqueting Office, get an overview of all the hotel procedures and hopefully be ready, at the end of the internship, to approach a career in the events department of a 5* hotel.

Main tasks

Conduct site inspections for potential clients
Assist our Banqueting Manager in preparing materials like Banquet Event Orders, proposals, contracts etc.
Distribute BEOs to the hotel departments and answer questions and requests about events
Tour and inspect banquet rooms and set ups for meeting and events
Work closely with our Banqueting Manger to ensure all aspects of the event have been cost effective and serviced both clients and hotel needs
Learn to handle small events under the supervision of the Banqueting Manager
Follow up at the end of events.

Requirements:

Fluent English, knowledge of Italian would be beneficial
Proficiency in MS Office
Ability to communicate effectively with guests and actively listen in order to provide optimal and tailor made service
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Be able to exercise utmost discretion with confidential information.
