    Position

    Conceptualization and definition of complex machines equipped with on-board control systems for the execution of remote tasks in a nuclear environment, such as handling or recovery of radioactive material, dry or underwatering segmentation, inspection or sampling in harsh environmental conditions (including high levels of ionizing radiation).

    Main responsibilities

    Conceptualization and design of mechanical components

    Definition of the control architecture, the main logics and the acquisition of the data necessary for the safe operation of the machine

    Definition of technical specifications for the purchase or manufacture of prototype components

    Conceptualization and design of test facilities for the qualification of solutions

    Integration of the basic principles for operability in nuclear environments

    Test supervision and data collection

    Maximizing synergies with the Ansaldo group's capabilities.

    Requirements

    Master degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace Engineering or

    similar. The Ph.D. is considered an advantage.

    5 years, of which at least 3 years in research and development

    in scope-related fields.

    Good knowledge of complex machines, mechanisms and robotic applications in the

    industrial sector

    Basic skills for the production and assembly of mechanical components

    Experience in engineering aspects of robotics and mechatronics

    Good understanding of security aspects

    Knowledge of manufacturing aspects

    Integration of on-board control, acquisition and feeding systems

    Additional skills:

    o Experience in the application of nuclear codes

    o Knowledge of 3D modelling systems

    o Knowledge of FEM analysis methods

    Spirit of initiative, curiosity and passion for technology and innovation

    Good critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills

    Fluent command of written and spoken English

    Available for frequent travels, even at short notice.
