Gorgonzola hosts Navigations Air Systems (NAS) domain.


The activity of NAS domain:

avionics, navigation and radar systems for civil air traffic and technologies supporting the activities of civilian and military pilots, ATC controllers and technicians of several airlines, air traffic control agencies and Air Force around the world.

Italy is the Group's Competence center for the design, production and delivery of Navigation Aids products and Competence Centre for the delivery of non-Radar Surveillance Products.


Responsibilities

  • Define and propose architecture trade off allowing to meet the customer expectations in accordance with reuse policies, technology roadmap, business strategy and target cost
  • Participate to an integrated agile engineering team composed by several disciplines as Software, Mechanics, Radio frequency, Cyber, Safety, Designer, service, manufacturingin order to develop new products or propose improvement of existing products,
  • Elaborate and approve the product breakdown structure (solution decomposition on the main components)
  • Define functional chains and the logical & physical aspects to build the architecture,
  • Define the solution architecture identifying external and internal interfaces between the components
  • Allocate requirements to the architecture components
  • Contribute to the solution development cycle and coengineering approach,
  • Perform studies and simulation in order to validate innovating concepts and verify the performance of these innovations on the real system
  • Contribute to the integration, verification, validation and qualification activities

Required Skills and
Experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years' experience or Masters with 4+ years' experience in one or several following disciplines: Electronic, Digital, Telecom, Mechanical, Radio frequency
  • System Architect or Senior Systems Engineer with Electronic background
  • Experience in definition of System Requirements and translation into top level System Architecture
  • Experience in Aeronautic / Defence / Space sectors
  • Knowledge in the fields of Digital HW, FW and SW design is a plus
  • Understanding of RF Hardware design (from baseband up to at least Lband)
  • Understanding of telecommunication techniques
  • Preparation of project documentation (Technical Data Package, Test Requirements, Test Procedures) and execution of oral presentations towards international customers
  • Capability to drive the definition of a test strategy for a product
  • Have good knowledge of standard Office tools (e.g. MS Office)
  • Capacity to solve complex problem by himself or by requesting support and explain in a synthetic way how to solve them,
  • Have a team spirit in order to find collectively the most effective way to reach the team objectives
  • English and Italian fluent is a must, ability to speak additional languages as German or French is a benefit.
  • Have a basic knowledge of Non Radar Surveillance equipment's such as ADSB, WAM, MLAT and in the technical field of air traffic management and on the various regulations / standards such as EN, ICAO or specific local standards.
  • Proficient in the use of issue tracking software (e.g. Jira)
  • Proficient in the use of requirement management tools (e.g. DOORS)
  • Selfmotivated, critical thinker with strong curiosity to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
