We research for Electrification Business, in particular for the Smart Product division, an IoT Software Engineer who will join the Digital Platforms & Capabilities Agile Unit and will contribute to the development of the ABB IoT Digital Ecosystem (IoT devices, cloud platform, desktop applications and mobile apps).This position reports to R&D Team LeadYour responsibilities Take care of the design and the development of new IoT products/devices.
Identify the best technical solutions in terms of services to be used, architectural choices and technological stack.Follow preliminary tests for verification and pre-validation of the products/devices, analyzing the quality of the software process by using internal procedures.
Draw up the technical documentation required for the production and carries out activities to support and maintain the products/devices when requested.
Your background A master degree in Computer Engineering/Science.Good communication skills and proficiency in written and verbal Italian and English.
Basic knowledge of the Scrum framework.
Proficient in at least one high level programming language (e.g.
C++, C#, Python).Able to manage software projects, by applying the software engineering best practices and by using the tools for software versioning (e.g.
GIT), software quality (e.g. SonarQube) and CI/CD (e.g. Azure DevOps).Knowledge of Linux and embedded systems is a plus.Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g. Modbus RTU/TCP and OPC-UA) is a plus.
Knowledge of Yocto is a plus.
Knowledge of cybersecurity topics (e.g. Secure Boot, PKI) is a plus.
