    ORIENT EXPRESS LA DOLCE VITA

    Arsenale SpA, in partnership with Trenitalia SpA - Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato, has unveiled Orient Express La Dolce Vita, a train dedicated to showcasing the beauty of the Italian peninsula and its surroundings through a luxurious hospitality concept.

    Orient Express La Minerva, Rome

    Rome, known as the beloved capital of the Orient Express legacy, will host the first Orient Express hotel, Minerva, in 2024. The project, a collaboration between Orient Express and Italian luxury hotel group Arsenale S.p.A, will see the transformation of Palazzo Fonseca into a lavish 17th-century palace offering a blend of historical charm and contemporary elegance.

    Orient Express Palazzo Donà Giovannelli, Venice

    In Venice, architect Aline Asmar and her studio Culture in Architecture have been selected to enhance the décor of Palazzo Donà Giovannelli, a historic palace situated in the heart of the city. The renovated palace will house 45 exquisite rooms and suites overlooking Venice's enchanting gardens and canals.

    Job Description

    The Senior Director of Sales for Hotels & Trains plays a vital strategic role in defining, developing, and implementing comprehensive sales strategies. Responsible for overseeing sales activities, this position requires aligning action plans with objectives, providing guidance on tactical initiatives, and managing various aspects of sales operations.

    REPORTING LINE

    The Senior Director of Sales reports to the management of Orient Express properties in Italy and has a dotted line to the VP Sales & Marketing at Orient Express Trains & Cruises in Paris.

    Qualifications

    Educational Background: Ideally a master's degree in business, sales, hospitality, or related field.

    Experience: Minimum of 10 years in sales with leadership experience, particularly in the travel and tourism industry.

    Industry Knowledge: Profound understanding of travel agencies, luxury travel, trains, and cruise segments.

    Leadership: Strong leadership and team management abilities.

    Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Analytical: Solid analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

    Sales Acumen: Proven track record in driving sales growth.

    Networking: Exceptional networking skills within the leisure travel industry.

    Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills, especially with travel agencies.

    Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing market conditions.

    Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with sales and CRM tools; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
