Reports to: Commercial Director Italy
- Are you our new Head of On trade for Italy?_
We have big ambition for Italy and for On trade Italian business: we need you to drive it and crafting the right strategy and plan.
With reference to the Italy Commercial Director, you will own the On trade business in Italy, ensuring our brands shine in wholesalers and Cash and carry as well in on trade outlets.
Your key accountabilities and success in the role will be to encourage your team, optimise product and pricing to aid revenue and category growth, and to innovate.
- Full P&L accountability On trade channel (WHS and C&C)
- Responsible for forecasting, commercial planning, reporting and investment / budget management
- Lead RTM strategy, commercial activity and activation in outlets
- Leading and mentoring a senior team of 4 Regional managers, 1 NAM C&C and 1 Fiield manager
- Build an outstanding sales team
- Drive and deliver the talent and interpersonal capability agenda to attract, retain and develop the best sales talent in the industry
- Build the right capabilities to win in the longterm (data analytics, data insights, detailed store, Net Revenue Management)
- Delivering JBPs which add new value for both Diageo and customer.
- Work cross functionally to drive capability and collaboration with key business partners, to build coordinated plans which inspire change, differentiation, incremental sales and Return Of Investment
- Work with Customer mktg and RGM to deliver Diageo's category strategy and grow sales sustainably and profitably for the future
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with key clients, collaborators, and partners within the ontrade sector
- Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and addressing any concerns or feedback in a timely manner
- Forecasting sales and revenue targets based on market analysis and adjusting strategies accordingly
- Collaborating with logistics and operations teams to ensure timely delivery and optimal stock management
- Implementing processes and systems to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow
- Member of Italian Leadership team
Key outcomes:
- MS GROWTH: drive MS growth through magnificent execution of CUM plan and JBP with customers;
- NSV Growth;
- GM% Growth;
- Stock In trade: ensure right level of SIT to avoid OOS but also overstock;
- Credit Management:ensure critical metric achievement on a quarterly and half basis;
- Italy Long term strategy and Plan as part of Leadership Team.
What are the requirements:
- Commercial leader experience with significant knowledge of the Horeca channel (In depth understanding of distributors, key customers and competitors: their businesses and their shoppers/drinkers)
- Inspirational leader, with strong influential skills
- Good track record of commercial competence together with strong strategy skills
- Encouraged by shaping the future and driven by challenging the status quo
- Strong financial skills
- Proven record of working cross functionally
- Qualifications: HBO/Academic
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of commercial experience
- Languages: Italian: native
