Flexible packaging segment has a turnover of €1.167 million The business has today about 8,400 employees and has 27 manufacturing sites across 22 countries.

Today, a large part of flexible food packaging is non-recyclable.

Huhtamaki has a new product line that offers customers the possibility of shifting from these non-recyclable, multi-layer solutions to recyclable mono-material solutions, without compromising the functionality of the packaging.


The Head of Commercial, Global Projects will be in a key role in shaping the product portfolio, priorities, and commercial execution of these recyclable solutions, globally.


As Head of Commercial, Global Projects, you will report into VP Business Programs and have a dotted line to VP Global Sales and Commercial Excellence.

You will preferably be based in Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Italy.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide customer insight and market intelligence to ensure Huhtamaki's recyclable solution portfolio reflects customer needs and identify key areas for new growth
  • Leverage a network of regional sales leads to drive the commercial execution of new product portfolio through setting financial objectives, monitoring performance against targets and ensuring focus on the right products
  • Equip sales with the necessary materials and training to appropriately share product details with customers
  • Ensure best practices of commercial excellence are consistently applied across regions in the commercial process of products in scope, with special focus on preparation of approach and value proposition, costing and pricing
  • Act as the main point of contact for all sales related information for products in scope; provide project team and flexibles leadership team with regular updates on progress
  • Maintain pulse on sales vs current capacity levels, enabling proactive management of capacity. Bring commercial angle into future production/footprint decisions and production optimization
  • Together with key stakeholders, develop the key principles for product lifecycle management how to effective transition demand from nonrecyclable structures to recyclable structures and ensure they are understood and applied in the sales network
  • Market intelligence understand market trends towards recyclable solutions and ensure intelligence is used in decision making

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


This role requires senior level understanding of strategic sales, strong influencing and clear drive to lead growth of the business.

The role works closely with the Product Development and Sales, and in close collaboration with Market Unit and segment functions to achieve our strategic goals.


To thrive in the role, ideally you have:

  • Extensive experience of packaging or similar industry in a commercial capacity and a solid understanding of strategic sales in global market
  • Demonstrated experience of shaping a new and transforming product portfolio
  • A proven track record of achieving business goals in a pressured global content through target setting and internal performance monitoring
  • Expert in commercial excellence best practice with the ability to engage and inspire internal networks through coaching and training
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with clear drive to lead growth of the business in global, networked environment
  • Excellent information processing and project management skills, and conceptual ability to quickly adapt and switch between different contexts and situations
  • A high energy, forward looking, positive and collaborative attitude
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as influencing and negotiating skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English with excellent Clevel communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel
