This role will focus on:

• Bookkeeping according to generally accepted local Accounting Principles
• Profit and Loss Statement
• Preparation of Balance Sheet according to local fiscal law and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
• Accounts Receivable Accounting
• Collection of overdue Accounts and Management of Credit Limits
• Accounts Payable Accounting and Payment Transactions
• Execution and Monitoring of all relevant Tax Payments
• Management of Foreign Exchange accounting as required
• Participation in external Audits through Tax Authorities and Social Insurance Agencies and Statutory Audits as applicable
• Participation in internal Audits
• Analysis and Preparation of monthly Financial Reporting, quarterly Latest Estimate and annual Planning Process
• Analysis and Preparation of special Reports for Regional Manager
• Travel Expense Accounting
• Insurance Administration
• Company Car Management
• Pension Scheme Administration
• HR including Payroll (payslip managed externally)
• Banking

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A fully qualified accounting professional with a proven track record of working as a Financial Controller in a large organisation (preferably a multinational).
• Experience of working as part of Leadership Team and a true partner to a General Manager, Function Leader or similar
• An understanding of how businesses work (in industry), anticipating future needs and getting involved in broader business activities
• Preferably, has experience of working as a People Manager, leading a Finance Team
• 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
• Several years of experience with local laws in Italy
• Advanced degree in Accounting or recognised professional accounting qualification
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with creating financial statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the monthend/year end close process
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
• Fluent English
• Advanced Excel skills and a competent user of other Microsoft Office software
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisation skills
• Ability to handle highpressure situations and cope meet deadlines
