We are building a Gigafactory in Teverola, Italy, to produce cells, modules, and battery packs for Electric Vehicles, Energy Storage, Industrial, and Special applications. This project is part of a strong research and development department that will drive innovation in the European lithium battery value chain.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrochemist with experience in advanced electrochemical testing, experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrochemistry and be able to work effectively with our production team and R&D department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Conducting electrochemical tests on different form factor cells;

• Demonstrating scalability of new processes and materials through coin cells to single and multi-layer pouch cells;

• Interpreting and analyzing data for the R&D team and supporting production, including making recommendations to management;
">
• Managing the electrochemical test team;
">
• Working with the R&D team to evaluate new technologies and processes;
">
• Supporting the effective technology transfer of new designs to the production team;

• Supporting management in the deployment of a Technology Roadmap, including (but not limited to) technologies, active materials, and processing;

• Participating in European and global conferences and representing the company;

• Supporting the construction/improvement of the R&D team;

To be successful in this role, you will need:

">
• A PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or a related field;
">
• Post-doctoral experience in electrochemical testing of metal ion batteries or industrial experience equivalent (5+ years);
">
• Strong knowledge of cathode and anode materials, as well as other components (e.g., separators/electrodes, battery devices, etc.);
">
• Experience in the manufacturing process of Li-ion cells;
">
• Experience in R&D projects;
">
• Fluency in English (oral and written) is a MUST;
">
• Fluency in Italian (oral and written) is a PLUS;
">
• Ability to work under pressure, with flexibility, and to manage tight deadlines;
