ESG & Climate Change Specialist to join its office in Genoa or Milan or Rome, Italy within the Green Energy Solutions Division.


Mission:


The Environment & Climate Change Unit of RINA is looking for a ESG & Climate Change Specialist who will closely work with players within the industry, R&D and financial services sectors around sustainability with a specific focus on but not limited to Sustainability Reporting and Policy, ESG Assessment, Resource Efficiency Audits, GHG inventories and target settings, Carbon Footprint, LCAs, Climate Change Risk Assessment, Decarbonisation studies etc.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist clients with the development of operational climate risk strategy and quantification of climaterelated impacts, targetsetting and decarbonization opportunities and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reporting and assurance.
  • Assist clients in developing, monitoring, and reporting nonfinancial KPI's and sustainability metrics
  • Interact actively with the client aimed at both project deliveries and commercial opportunities identification and development.
  • Elaborate ESG and climate changerelated reports for Industrial Clients and International Financing Institutions (ESG assessment, GHG inventories and target settings, resource efficiency assessment, climate change risk assessment etc.)
  • Interact with colleagues of other Business Units within RINA Group to identify opportunities and deliver crossservices effectively and efficiently
  • Interact with external consultants in the countries of operations and assure the whole project standard of quality
  • Support in the development of new project opportunities, contribute to effective technical proposals

Experience:


  • Appropriate Master's Degree in environmental or energy engineering or other related discipline
  • Postgraduate study in sustainability matters and climateenergy transition will be considered as a plus
  • At least 3 years of experience in energy, sustainability or decarbonization advisory
  • Proven experience in consultancy related to some of these: ESG advisory (i.e. Strategy, Materiality assessments, Due Diligence), Energy and climate transition, Climate Change Risk & Impact Assessment, GHG accounting and reporting, Life Cycle Assessment, GHG Target Settings, Resource Efficiency & Management, Sustainability Reporting, EU Taxonomy.
  • Knowledge of international sustainability standards, frameworks and indices such as ISO , ISO 14067, GHG Protocol, TCFD, GRI, CDP, SBTi and ESG Indices is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills in Italian and English both oral and written, third language will be considered as a plus (preferred French and/or Spanish);
  • Excellent knowledge of the Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, Power Point; knowledge of Sphera LCA (GaBi) Software is a plus.
  • Demonstrated passion and interest in driving environmental and social change through business
  • Selfstarter enthusiasm and willingness to learn and stay abreast of constantly evolving development
  • Available for shortterm business travels

Education:


  • Master's Degree in Energy Engineering or Environmental Engineering
