THE POSITION:

The Pet Retail Sales Manager is a key and senior leadership role in the Pet Retail BU, reporting to the BU head.


The sales Manager is accountable for delivering the Sell-in and Sell-out targets, the market growth target and profitability targets both from a sell in and sell out perspective.


The Sales manager should have strong leadership skills to lead a structure of 30+ employees, with several levels of reporting lines (first line reports are people managers as well).

The Sales manager works in daily close alignment with the marketing manager, the trade marketing manager and the technical teams, driving results and ensuring execution in line with the overall company strategy.

A very strong customer focus is crucial.

The sales manager is responsible to devise the right pricing, commercial strategy and execution plan across multiple sales channels:
Mass Market, E-commerce, Pet Shops chains and traditional petshop, Pharmacies, Veterinaries etc.


He\she works in close collaboration with other teams (Credit, Supply, Finance controller, CX, Customer service, legal, Marketing, Trade Marketing ) assuring the fluid coordination between the sales team, the customers' needs and the company functions.


He\she has the ownership to assure customers performance in terms of turnover estimate, development, planning & tracking by customer, commercial strategy definition and development, investment optimization, estimate, planning & tracking by customer; products demand planning & tracking by customer and last but not least the development of the sales team.


Task & Responsibilities:


  • Commercial policy strategy (develop, coordination & definition) and channel strategy
  • Lead the execution of the sales strategy and commercial policy across national account managers and sellout team
  • Lead the negotiation and achieve annual agreements with the key customers
  • Ensure close customer proximity on a regular basis
  • Annual agreement strategy (commercial and channels dynamics, commercial effectiveness, trade margin and mark up optimization, legal compliance, timing and working with other BU sales team and trade marketing ) à represent the sales team as point of contact with CX, Trade marketing, Legal, Finance
  • Sales forecast by customer overview, sku and phasing (planning, check and management along the year)
  • Credit limit phasing by customer (planning, check and management along the year)
  • GtN by customer (planning, check and management along the year)
  • Rebate by customer (planning, check and management along the year)
  • Investment strategy (planning, customers documents check and management with CX and finance)
  • Inventory level by customer and by sku tracking, and monitoring
  • Mediumlong term forecast from a commercial perspective (work with the marketing manager)
  • Sellin
  • Sell through Sellout flow analysis from a commercial perspective
  • Close collaboration and alignment with Pet Vet team

Requirements:


  • Significant handson commercial and sales experience (in pets market preferred) sellin and sellout) in an omnichannel environment
  • Excellent customer focus and relationship management
  • Commercial sensitivity in market and negotiation dynamics
