The role
The Account Manager's primary objective is to proactively seek out and develop new business opportunities, while also ensuring the steady growth of existing customer accounts within the assigned portfolio.
As a key responsibility, you will be tasked with fostering and strengthening relationships within customer organizations, enabling cross-selling opportunities, expanding business operations, and driving overall growth.
Notably, your focus will be on engaging with meat and fish packers in the vibrant North West region of Italy.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Development of the Account Portfolio with new customers and new business
- Manage profitable growth of existing customers
- Agree and achieve objectives for their Account Portfolio
- Develop and maintain systems with customers to increase reliability of sales forecasts
- Agree and develop systems and processes to manage and resolve customer service issues. This should utilise the knowledge gained from external relationships, internal experience and business capability
- Jointly facilitate the development and maintenance of effective working relationships between internal and external, throughout the business
- Adherence and maintenance of company commercial processes using required tools and systems (Salesforce/BW)
- Collect market information
Knowledge, experience and competencies
- Sales experience in meat packers is preferable
- Numerically capable with strong analytical and problemsolving ability
- The ability to make sound business decisions in complex situations
- Project management skills
- Relationshipbuilding, influencing crossfunctionally and in a complex matrix environment
- 510 years' experience as sales account manager/business development manager within meat and fish packers market
- Strong team player
- Fluent English and Italian language
- Established IT skills to include CRMs (preferably Salesforce) Windows, MS Office, Excel
