Lean Black Belt Trainer & Consultant:

WE OFFER :

American Modern's (AMIG) Operations Consulting Group (OCG) is a team of individuals from diverse backgrounds that share a passion for efficiency, effectiveness & pragmatic execution.

We report to the Chief Operating Officer but work will all areas of the company and the greater Munich Re organization.

While we report through American Modern Insurance Group, we function as a shared service to the greater Global Munich Re portfolio of companies and are considered Munich Re's center of excellence for all three of our service offerings.

  • OCG is made up of three separate teams, each delivering a full set of services that work together closely to deliver a broad portfolio of operational excellence solutions:
  • Consulting: Provides Lean Six Sigma based process improvement services
  • Business Process Outsourcing (BPO): Uses third party staffing to execute standard work activities in low cost international locations
  • Automation: Delivers robotic process automation (RPA via Blue Prism) and digital workflow solutions (Appian) and automated input management (OCR via Open Text and other solutions).

The Operations Consultant Role will lead large scale process improvement projects usually affecting an entire department's value stream or components of the overall insurance value stream across multiple departments.

As such, the Operations Consultant will work with AMIG's senior leadership (usually VP or Board Level stakeholders) to lead large scale transformations using a data driven approach based on traditional DMAIC methodology. Become a trusted advisor to our business customers in matters related to operational excellence.

  • Analyze existing business processes to identify impediments to flow, failure modes creating rework and built in loops and complexity that hinder efficient and effective processing and drive up costs and lead time.
  • Develop and implement endtoend service solutions based on Lean Six Sigma improvement methods, tools and techniques ensuring analysis and suggested improvements are driven by data and direct observation rather than gut feel.
  • Partner with business to gather voice of the customer, voice of the process in order to build a solid business case and "sell it" to senior leadership securing funding, staffing and high level project prioritization.
  • Partner with Financial Planning & Analysis department to ensure Cost Benefit Analysis accounts for both hard and soft costs & benefits (both at top line and bottom line) and track benefits throughout the agreedto payback period.
  • Work with internal Ops Consulting teams (Automation & Business Process Outsourcing) to develop holistic solutions that solve business problems in the most efficient and cost effective way while maintaining adequate process controls.
