Join our dynamic team at John Crane as a Project Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in coordinating the contract execution from the kick-off meeting for engineered systems to meet the company business target in terms of quality, cost and delivery of goods and documentation, as well as to provide the best service to maximize the Customer experience with John Crane.


The role is based at our production site in Solaro (Milan), Monday to Friday, with the opportunity to work remotely for two days a week after the initial training period.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the kickoff meeting with the proposal and technical department for engineered systems.
  • Interface and coordination with other departments (technical, procurement, quality, planning, production and logistics).
  • Interface with internal and external Customers and other global stakeholders.
  • Procurement of tags and nameplates (excluding standard nameplates only)
  • Management of job openings and manufacturing releases as per company procedures.
  • Contribution to the management of nameplates/tag process as foreseen by company procedure.
  • Management of document submission, comments, change of scope and approval process.
  • Project monitoring activities through the SAP and managing expediting visits of Customers.
  • Support the quality department during Customerwitnessed inspections.
  • Contribute to the punchlist closure as per competence.
  • Cost control activities during the job execution and at the closeout.
  • Job reporting activities (project reports and GANTT diagram), for internal stakeholders and Customers.
  • Contribution to trade compliance activities to obtain certificates of origin, certificates of preferential origin, dualuse etc.
  • Updating of job databases (orderbook), spreadsheets and SAP.
  • Record and provide information for the analysis of arrears and late delivery (lesson learned)
  • Provide information and contribute to the preparation of financial forecasting.

The Individual

  • While an Engineering Degree is advantageous, it's not mandatory for this role, opening the door for diverse talent.
  • Previous experience in a mechanical manufacturing company, particularly in Oil and Gas/Petrochemical projects, is a valuable asset.
  • Fluent in English is mandatory (spoken and written).
  • Thrive in a dynamic work environment, showcasing your ability to work under pressure and exhibit high flexibility.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, coupled with an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Proven time management and organizational skills, with the ability to set priorities effectively.
  • Experience in project management is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office is essential; knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
