John Paul Pwa Abeng Amah

I am a goal- oriented Human Rights Expert focused on legal and statistical research, with +10 years worth of experience in government and with international organisations. I have managed people, global projects and  partnerships with states and international organisations. 

I am eloquent in English and French, West African Pidgin and Aghem possess a working knowledge of Italian. I am most comfortable using MS Office and SPSS Package, for narrative and financial reporting and for statistical analysis. As well, I comfortably anchor on G-Suit, Slack, Trello, Padlet, MS Teams, Zoom, to team up and get tasks accomplished with thoroughness. 

I am a compassionate individual with high ethical standards and a penchant to mainstream human rights considerations in decision.making. 

In my current role as a human rights officer with an Italian based INGO, I manage projects and strategic European Parliament and INGO partners; 

•  Coordinating of cross-regional projects on academic research, capacity development, mental health, climate justice, and strategic litigation on children’s right, across 7 regional hubs, each managed by a  Regional Officer in Africa, Europe, South East Europe, Latin America and Caribbean, Asia Pacific, Arab World and the Caucasus.
• Co-leading the setting-up of a global human rights programme aimed at empowering children and young people on decision-making and self-sufficiency
• Attend partnership project cycle (5 years) meetings to determine priority actions and budget allocations of up to 1 million euros for annual projects, and support the drafting contracts/bilateral agreements with partners.
• Support the drafting interim/annual, narrative/financial reports in line with agreements and regulations and cooperate with the GC Finance Department during internal and external audits.

Previously, i have:

Planning and Coordination of field research activities

• Participated in developing project’s Plan of Action, which comprised of identifying individuals and groups who exert trade that deal with metals e.g. blacksmiths, Dane-gun fabricators, holders and repairers, traditional hunters, mechanics, bicycle repairers and others.
• Assisted in recruitment of 20 field officers and training on disaggregated data collection techniques using demographic and geographical indicators. 
• Analysed data using MS Office and SPSS tools, creating representative graphs and charts highlighting results for presentations.
• Drafted the final report on the study and submitted to partner.
