ROLE SUMMARY:

Our school

  • Founded in 1958, IS Milan caters for over 900 students from more than 60 nationalities. Our campus, which opened in September 2013, incorporates specialist classrooms, labs, libraries, arts and music areas, as well as a theatre, swimming pool, fullsize gymnasium and swimming pool. We also opened our Boarding House in 2018, which has added greatly to the sense of family at IS Milan.
  • All of our sections are fully authorised for International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes
  • Primary Years Programme (PYP) from Early Years to Grade 6; Middle Years Programme (MYP) from Grades 7 to 11; Diploma Programme (DP) in Grades 12 and 13. IS Milan is the longest established IB world school in Italy and has an excellent record of results in the Diploma.
    The position
  • Currently, Head of Sport and PHE is a single leadership role at IS Milan. We are seeking to appoint exceptional teachers to take on these roles from late August 2024, whether as two separate roles or as a larger single leadership portfolio.
  • We strongly value a growth mindset at IS Milan, with ongoing professional reflection and development a core expectation for all staff. Whilst previous experience of IB programmes is always advantageous, we are also very interested in applicants who are seeking to develop their experience through acquiring IB expertise. Initial IB training will be provided to the successful applicant, who will be expected to continue to show innovation and creativity in the pursuit of ever higher standards of teaching and learning, throughout their IS Milan careers.
The IB Learner Profile is at the core of our school's philosophy:
our staff model this everyday, through their teaching and through the strong relationships they build with our students. Global citizenship, a respect for diversity, and inclusive teaching, are central to everything we do.
