Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.

Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history: 9 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2,300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22,000 square km.


The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).


Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.


Position:


Within the Main Area of Games Operations, we are searching for an
Operation Broadcast Services Manager to join our
Energy Structure.

He/She will report directly to the Head of Energy to carry out the following activities:

  • Development and planning (with the other units involved in the Energy area) of the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) power distribution, from the medium voltage point of venue delivery to the end users (Broadcast, HVAC, tech and general services), consisting in MV/LV transformers, substations and LV switchboards installed in the power rooms and temporary generation integrated in the venue distribution grids with redundant dedicated UPS and Gener sets.
  • Development, together with other units of the Energy area (TPP, VIK and venue project design), of the temporary generation systems, UPS and other equipment to supply IBC loads with the level of redundancy and continuity in line with the OBS and IOC requirements.
  • Space allocation design of the energy facilities in collaboration with the Venue design and Overlay area.
  • Supporting of the power supply and internal distribution systems design for broadcast services (competitive venues) and the MMC power supply and distribution power system (MPC+IBC) in collaboration with the other units of the energy area involved.
  • Supervision of the operation and maintenance activities on the IBC electrical power system, managing the resources available (Partners' workforce, contractors materials etc.) so as to secure operation and quality standards of the IBC.
  • Collaboration with the Temporary power systems (TPS) manager for preparing technical specifications and needs estimate for the temporary power provider tenders and for the implementation of the Temporary Power System for IBC and broadcast services (competitive venue level).
  • Focus point of broadcast energy topics with IOC and OBS and with all functional areas of the host committee; planning, participation, and reporting of all meetings for the preparation of IOC/OBS documents related to the specific milestones.
  • IBC and venues broadcast services activities' design with the energy consultants and the project office
  • ViK Contract's management with the VIK manager support and partners identified.

Main Responsibilities

  • Development of the International Broadcast center (IBC) electrical Power and Distribution System design, under the supervision of the Head of Energy and in collaboration with the consultants of the energy area, the VIK partners, and other units and areas involved.
  • Supporting and collaborating with the consultants of the energy area and the TPS manager and Venue manager on the development of broadcast services in competitive venues, directly and/or with technical team.
  • Supporting the Procurement Functional Area on the preparation of tender activities for the temporary energy system, providing technical specifications and data. Moreover he/she will manage Energy Contractors, supervising the implementation phase of the systems.
  • Supporting the Head of energy and the project office for all the activities in the broadcast and media operation area.

Requirements:


  • Academic background in electrical engineering or equivalent course with high band.
  • Experience in the temporary power systems sector and in the project management of sporting international events requiring overlay setup with specific reference to broadcast services, from design phase to the onsite implementation phase, that require redundant and uninterrupted power supply services ensured only through the inte
