This position is part of a multidisciplinary and ambitious research effort, in the framework of the PathFinder EU project "IV-Lab", towards the realization of a multi-sensing device implantable in blood vessels.

The micro-sensing-system is specifically designed for monitoring patient with heart failure by targeting hemodynamic and biochemical parameters, and will allow wireless connectivity.

The Printed and Molecular Electronics (PME) Research Line is coordinated by Dr. Mario Caironi, who has extensive experience in printed, flexible and large-area electronics.

PME will contribute to "IV-Lab" by developing highly sensitive printed carbon-based biosensors for cardiac troponin.

Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Develop printed biosensors based on Electrolyte Gated Organic Field Effect Transistors (EGOFETs) to detect Cardiac Troponin
  • Define functionalization protocols for the biorecognition layer
This open position/research is financed by the European Innovation Council within the EIC Pathfinder project "IV-LAB" under the grant agreement
