Basic Function:

Ensures compliance of firefighting, emergency response and loss prevention aspects in site activities, as projects and plants modifications, coordinating the projects and/or activities teams.

Is reference site contact point for the discipline of expertise.
Collaborates to develop and continuously improve the strategy and processes at site to achieve industry leading GoalZERO performance. Is responsible for implementing strategies and processes at site in collaboration with H, PS&OS Lead for the discipline.
Ensures personnel training on the discipline. Conducts informal and formal investigations and is part of site call-out team.


Roles & Responsibilities:


Firefighting, Emergency response and Loss prevention compliance

  • Responsible for issuing the documentation required by Fire prevention regulations to obtain authorizations for plant modifications, new projects, plants revamping and any other modifications with impact on firefighting matters.

This includes (not limited to) activities as:

  • Preparation of documentation required by D.Lgs. 105/15 and D.M. 02/09/2021 for fire prevention.
  • Definition of specifications for site fire prevention and firefighting systems.
  • Responsible for safety report for what concerns fire prevention (authorizations and periodic renewals).
  • Responsible for site Emergency Response readiness and Site Process Owner for Loss prevention matters, according to Italian regulatory framework and LYB Operational Excellence Standards. In case of an emergency, is site emergency response coordinator.
  • Alignment and communication with Italian authorities on Fire prevention, emergency response and loss prevention matters, representing the site.

Firefighting, Emergency response and Loss prevention expertise at site

  • Provide expertise, advice and assistance to site stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Process Development & Design and Technology Support, Operations, etc.) on Fire Prevention, Firefighting, Emergency response and Loss prevention matters.

This includes (not limited to):

  • Leading or participating to MOCs
  • Leading projects for the related discipline. Participating to projects
  • Conducting Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR), Audits and Safety Tours.
  • Keeps up to date, implements and trains internal (LYB
  • Operational Excellence) operating procedures relating to Firefighting, Loss prevention and Emergency response.

Site safety strategy and performance for the discipline

  • Monitor and assess local safety performance, identifies and pursue improvement opportunities.
  • Provide inputs to define the site HSEQT safety strategy w.r.t. the discipline. Interface with site HSEQT to propose improvement to ensure safety strategies for the discipline are supported and achieved.
  • Responsible for site reporting documentation regarding the discipline.

Safety Network

Safety programs and initiatives at site

  • Ensure effective and sustainable implementation of safety related programs and campaigns at site for the discipline of expertise.
  • Support site departments and services to drive effective and consistent program development and execution for the discipline of expertise.
  • As Site SPO/SME Safety coordinates site response to safety Advisory, Alert, Sense of Urgency for the discipline.
  • Takes part to site safety campaigns and initiatives (e.g., safety walks).

HSEQT activities

  • Is a positive example for the team and the organization w.r.t. safety.
  • Leads and/or participates to incident classifications (SME
  • Subject Matter Expert, SPO
  • Subject Process Owner) and investigations (formal and informal) related to fire prevention, firefighting, Emergency response and loss prevention matters.
  • Conducts internal audits related to the discipline.
  • Takes part to callout team and to crisis management team for emergency response.
  • Train site personnel on Firefighting, Emergency response and Loss Prevention safety matters. Is responsible for adequate training, knowledge and expertise of site personnel on the discipline.

Qualifications:


Education:


  • Master Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering. Postdegree qualifications related to Process Safety, Fire prevention, Firefighting and Loss Prevention are a plus.

Work Experience:


  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in fire prevention and/or chemicalprocess industry manufacturing (i.e., HSEQT, Engineering, Operations, Projects, Maintenance).
  • Proven experience in one or more of the following: Process Safety, Fire Prevention, Authority/compliance engineering, Plants Operations, Plants Maintenance, Plants Technology.
  • Experience in coordinating teams/projects.

Languages:


  • Fluent Italian language (written and spoken).
  • Fluent English language (written and spoken).
