What you'll do:

As a Senior Specialist, you will play a key role in managing, maintaining, and optimizing Sisal's systems and infrastructures. Leveraging your experience and technical expertise, you will implement and manage critical systems, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. This role requires a deep understanding of IT systems and ancillary platforms, such as virtualization, monitoring, backup, and strong problem-solving skills.

As a Senior Specialist you will have the opportunity to contribute in the following areas:

Systems Administration:

• Administration, configuration, and maintenance of servers, SAN devices, storage and backup systems.
• Implement best practices for system deployment, configuration management, and patch management.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource utilization to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency.

Support Infrastructure Design and Implementation:

• Support Architectures Team and Application Teams in designing operable, scalable and resilient IT infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements and performance objectives.
• Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and expansions in coordination with Project Manager, Application stakeholders, Release Management Team.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement and enforce security policies, access controls, and encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive data and systems.
• Conduct fixing campaign following the regular vulnerability assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to fix or mitigate security risks.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as GDPR, ISO27001 and WLA collaborating also with the Internal Audit function.

Backup and Disaster Recovery:

• Perform daily checks to assure working and performing backup and disaster recovery systems to safeguard data and ensure business continuity.
• Test and validate backup and recovery procedures regularly to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of system failures or disasters.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
• Ensure documentation is kept up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders, facilitating efficient knowledge transfer and collaboration.
• Collaborate with external partners, consultants, and service providers to support systems operations, implementations, upgrades, and integrations.

Who you are:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience managing operating systems such as, mainly but not limited to, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Redhat Enterprise Linux and CentOS, both in stand-alone and high-availability clustered architectures, deployed both on-prem and on-cloud.
• Knowledge of the Italian and English language, both spoken and writen
• Availability to work shifts and availability is required

Deep knowledge in:

• Systems administration on cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Azure and AWS)
• Virtualization platforms such as VMware and Oracle VM x86
• Containerization orchestration platforms (Kubernetes)
• Administration of Storage Area Network and NAS in enterprise environments.
• Shell scripting (Bash/PowerShell)
• Automation tools (Ansible, Terraform)
• Provisioning tools (Spacewalk)
• Monitoring tools (Nagios, Splunk Dynatrace)
• Backup platforms (Avamar, Networker, DataDomain and CommVault)
