Are you looking for an opportunity to oversee and align with external global CMOs to provide support to GSK's ongoing manufacturing needs? If so, this is the role for you.

As External Manufacturing Engineering Lead, you will provide operational engineering support on equipment performance, process issues, deviation investigations, and other technical areas to the external manufacturing network

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career.

These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Conduct Engineering assessments and due diligence for CMO selection; including automation, sustainability, and some aspects of EHS
  • Engineering lead for Tech Transfers to CMO's; supports facility fit, process equipment flow, tech transfer timeline, engineering run support (as needed), equipment troubleshooting, automation configuration, sustainability program alignment, and other engineering aspects related to product transfers to CMOs
  • Support due diligence and onboarding of CMO network for business development alliances or integrations
  • Capital investment planning and execution support to external manufacturing network
  • Develop Sustainability plans with CMOs to align and deliver on GSK Sustainability program goals
  • Coordinate with Tech and Engineering Automation on data integration and digital system optimization for GSK at CMOs
  • Act as single point of contact for the External Manufacturing group to GSC Global Engineering and EHS; coordinate any additional support within Engineering, Automation, and Sustainability

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • BS Engineering Degree
  • 10+ years Pharma/Biotech Engineering experience
  • 5 years' experience in engineering leadership
  • Experience working with multiple, global manufacturing sites.
  • 2 years of experience managing capital portfolio for network of sites
  • Experience leading capital projects of over £10m.
  • Experience with Tech Transfer

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Chartered or Professional Engineer in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience transferring tech into CMOs or similar external manufacturers
  • Experience working collaboratively across organizational lines
