The company has developed its own Large-Scale Additive Manufacturing Robotic system, that with a patented extrusion head, proprietary algorithms and the use of robotic arms, can manufacture advanced components with no limits in scale.

The flexibility of the robotic system allows not only to manufacture very large-scale parts but also complex geometries and parts with improved mechanical performance.

Caracol provides a solution that saves production costs, reduced production lead time, and limits production waste to a minimum and can reutilize the waste produced.

Caracol's team combines a deep expertise in generative design and additive manufacturing, with an extensive knowledge of the industrial goods sector.

Using very advanced design and analysis tools to optimize design for additive manufacturing according to the required performance. We work with clients accompanying them throughout the production process, supporting them by facilitating their getting to know the technologies and the opportunities of
Additive Manufacturing.

We have been working with customers from industries such as Automotive and Motorsports, Aerospace and Defense,
Industrial Machinery, Medical Devices, Design and Architecture.

from design and concept development, engineering components for AM production, manufacturing prototypes and pre
- series with no limit in scale, line production of finished parts, as well as support in internalizing 3D printing technologies, 3D printing training and workshops and more.

Main activities

Support with the Ideation, design and production of new hardware systems for FGF (fuse granulate fabrication) additive processes and their subsystems or accessory systems
Support with the testing of new materials, characterization of materials and printing processes through tests and subsequent mechanical tests
Interaction with external partners (companies, research institutes and universities)
Research on technologies and support on production of documentation for intellectual property related to the new systems developed
Continuous improvement and maintenance of the company's existing proprietary hardware systems

Operational Skills required

Academic background in Materials or Mechanical Engineering, any type of engineering or computational design background with field experience in engineering projects in advanced industries
Master Thesis or PhD in Additive Manufacturing is considered a plus
Knowledge of CAD software for 3D modelling (Fusion 360, Catia or similar). Computational design and basic coding are considered a plus.
Expertise in both thermoplastic and metal materials is preferred
Knowledge/experience in Additive Manufacturing and CNC milling
Experience in R&D department in the Additive Manufacturing industry, both in companies, universities, or research centers is considered a plus
