KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and monitor the appointment of personnel to vessels in accordance with SMS/VMS procedures agreed terms & conditions of employment and specified experience and training/qualification matrices

  • Advising the person in charge of the department of any deficiencies or doubts Monitor manning levels for the assigned departments ensuring full compliance with the international and Flag State legislation Union agreement ensuring
in consultation the responsible manager of the specific department Ensure effective and efficient planning of reliefs
in accordance with terms and conditions of employment

  • Prepare and make available a 12 month projected Crew Rotation Plan in respect of each vessel for the assigned department(s)/positions
  • Have a good understanding of the onboard positions responsibilities/functions and requirements
  • Liaising with the Coordinators Fleet HR & Crewing for the crew changes in advance to meet operational and budgetary requirements
  • Provide emergency support to seafarers as necessary Maintain an overview of and monitor the seafarer recruitment process performance of Recruitment Agents
ensuring full compliance with the SMS and the Manager Fleet HR & Crewing of any problems or concerns

  • Ensure all seafarer data is entered accurately into the crew system so that uptodate information is available at all times
  • Ensure that all mobilized seafarers meet VMS recruitment and mobilization criteria
  • Ensure that the prejoining briefing is effectively performed
  • Provide an appropriate level of sensitive and diplomatic support and guidance on crew welfare matters
  • Keep the respective Manager Fleet HR & Crewing updated on crewing issues Actively promote and support the development of professional working relationships with Recruiters the ship management team shoreside and on board
as well as with the individual seafarers Play an integral part in the development of seafarers' careers by utilizing the information in Appraisals
Seafarer Development checklists and Personal training record Books Keep updated on legal requirements related to crewing/training (STCE MLC Flag etc
- )

  • Participate in internal and external audits

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in the Crew department of a marine company Comprehensive understanding of maritime legal requirements eg
MLC is appreciated

  • Proficiency in oral and written English Language
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and interact with people at all levels
  • Thorough awareness and good understanding of culture and diversity
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills Proven ability to work to
and meet tight deadlines Proven experience to work with Microsoft Office Applications; Outlook Excel
Word etc

  • Able to give clear and direct instructions
