Role/Mission/Objectives


With a direct reporting line into the Global IT - HR, G&A Services Procurement Director, the Global Category Manager IT & GBS will manage an overall spending scope of circa 50/60 ME, potentially expected to grow accordingly to Company growth.


Spend categories under his/her responsibility:
(as example and not exhaustive): IT, Outsourced Services


Procurement is accountable to identify, manage and develop a suppliers base capable of supporting the Company in achieving its goals.

As a key member of the Global IT - HR, G&A Services Procurement Team, the Global Category Manager IT & GBS is accountable to develop and deliver the strategic agenda for the spend under his/her responsibility.


Key Responsibilities and Activities
Coordinating with a functional responsibility a specialized team spread across our Regions and one Global Procurement buyer.

  • Develop the category strategy (e.g. supplier rationalization) & risk profile and drive its implementation in close alignment with Global IT
  • HR, G&A Services Procurement Director and/or the Procurement Functions in the Regions. Involve Business Stakeholders at appropriate stage
  • Identify and collaborate with Business Stakeholders and Regional Procurement teams to receive inputs necessary for the development of an effective category strategy as well as to cascade down the approved global category strategy
  • Identify and prioritize category opportunities / synergies over the 4 Procurement Pillars and quantify potential benefits
  • Identify category strategy efficiencies vs market benchmarks and a particular focus on supplier selection to avoid suppliers proliferation
  • Ensure profitability partnering with business and finance to ensure an effective spendmanagement lock in
  • Support the Global IT
  • HR, G&A Services Procurement Director to define Category targets
  • Manage crossfunctional teams and act as Project Manager to coordinate category initiatives
  • Conduct regular market analysis on a Global/Regional level to identify cost reduction and supplier base opportunities
  • Segment supplier and develop SRM strategy according to specific relationship
  • Stay uptodate on industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Lead negotiations of frame/global contracts and manage supplier relationships with Global suppliers
  • Optimize category efficiency through implementing supplier, product & process standardization and automation in close alignment with Global Procurement COE
  • Report regular categoryspecific results and KPI's within the dedicated tools (eg. Sievo)
  • Innovate with best practices proposal and leadership and/or implementation
  • Be recognized as business partner and addedvaluer contributor
  • Perform regular (minimum quarterly) supplier performance reviews, accordingly to supplier segmentation, and solve issues to secure target (financials and not) achievements.

Experience & Education & Skills

years of proven experience within Procurement organizations departments ; preferably of multinational companies in consumer goods industry, with focus on IT expenses.


  • Must be familiar with crosscultural issues and working across different countries at multiple organizational levels
  • Management experience is a plus
  • Business school or Engineering school preferred
  • Fluency of English is a must, knowledge of another languages is a plus
  • International working experience is a plus
