General Job Function:
The primary function of machine tool operator is to set up and operate small / medium / heavy NC machine tools (milling machine, vertical lathe, drilling machine) to obtain the designed geometries and other requirements expressed on material drawings.
La funzione primaria dell'operatore macchine utensili è di preparare e condurre macchine utensili CNC di piccole / medie/ grandi dimensioni (alesatrice, tornio verticale, foratrice) per ottenere le geometrie e le altre lavorazioni espresse dai disegni tecnici.
Duties and Responsibilities (in the order of priority):
Technical Drawing
Reads technical drawings, ISO and ASME tolerances.
Legge il disegno tecnico, le tolleranze ISO e ASME.
Component Movement
Move material into position, manually or with hoists or cranes.
Movimentazione e posizionamento dei pezzi, manualmente o con l'ausilio di argani o gru.
Machine Set up
Sets up, adjusts, and operates the machine tool in order to perform machining operations, in accordance to the drawings. Align and secure by clamping equipment, checks cutting tools, uses probe system or similar in order to defines the zero point and ensures tolerance dimensions of workpiece into machines.
Predispone, sistema e conduce la macchina utensile per effettuare operazioni di lavorazione meccanica, come da disegno tecnico. Allinea e assicura il pezzo tramite dispositivi di staffaggio, determina le origini pezzo, controlla il pre-setting degli utensili e garantisce il rispetto delle tolleranze dimensionali.
Timing
By means of the MES, or by recording on working documentation, records the actual time spent for every operation. As further step, he/she is able to suggest improvements with the aim of time reduction.
Tramite il MES, o attraverso i dati riportati nella documentazione di lavoro, registra il tempo effettivamente speso per ogni operazione. Come step successivo, lui/lei è in grado di suggerire migliorie o di apportarle direttamente al programma di lavorazione del pezzo con lo scopo di ridurre i tempi.
Machining Quality
Measures, examines, and tests completed works in order to detect eventual defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as caliper, micrometer, go – no go gauges.
Misura, esamina e testa i lavori completati per individuare eventuali difetti e per assicurare la conformità delle specifiche, utilizzando strumenti di precisione quali tastatori, calibri, micrometri, tamponi passa-non passa.
Safety Compliance
Complies with company policy standards and procedures safety, quality, and cares in handling and storing the necessary equipment for the purpose of machining operations.
