The CMCC Foundation is a scientific research center on climate change and its interactions with the environment, the society, the world of business and policy makers.


Our work aims to stimulate sustainable growth, protect the environment and develop strategies for the adaptation and mitigation of climate change.


Our Division of Ocean Modeling and Data Assimilation (ODA) is looking for a new position of Scientific and Technical Documentation Manager in the framework of the Copernicus Marine Service for the Mediterranean Sea.

- the preparation and delivery of scientific and technical documentation related to the operational forecasting service;
- the management of the Mediterranean Monitoring and Forecasting Center Consortium in the framework of the Copernicus Marine Service and other projects/services;
- the organization of technical and scientific meetings;
- the implementation of project management tools and monitoring of the communication processes within the consortium;
- for monitoring and performing quality assessment of the project processes and timeline.


Technical documentation related activities include:
- gathering and merging technical and scientific contributions from all the Mediterranean Monitoring and Forecasting Center Consortia partners;
- drafting presentations, reports and documents to be reviewed by the scientific and technical experts;
- quality check of documents format.

The job location is CMCC office in
Bologna, Italy.

We are looking for motivated persons with the following requirements:

  • Master Degree or equivalent in Engineering (Management, Environmental, Coastal, etc), Environmental Science, Physical Oceanography or other scientific disciplines;
  • Good knowledge on preparation of technical and scientific documentations;
  • Good knowledge and skills in project management;
  • Good networking and collaborative skills in an international environment;
  • Fluency in English

The desired qualifications are:

  • Experience with collaborative tools for documentation management (e.g. google drive, dropbox)
  • Experience in project management software (e.g. Jira, Monday)
Belonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition.


Some fiscal benefit could be applied for repatriated workers or foreign researchers/professors, having the requirements defined by Dlgs 147/2015 (for repatriates) or Dl 78/2010 (for foreigners).

The appointment period will be initially
24 months, renewable for two additional years pending a positive evaluation. A permanent contract would be granted after a positive collaboration of 2 to 4 years.

The gross salary will be based on qualification and working experience and competitive with major research centers in Europe.
