POMINI Long Rolling Mills is a highly technological company specialized in the design, construction, installation and start-up of plants for the hot rolling of steel long products such as bars, commercial profiles, sections, rails and wire rod.

These products are used in a wide scope of applications such as civil construction, precision mechanical manufacture, automotive industry, premium rails for heavy-load and high-speed railways.

TASKS

Review of customer specifications and development of equipment mechanical design from concept stage through to detailed engineering, also supporting machine manufacturing, site installation and tests.

Drafting final project documentation, including O&M manuals.
Preparing mechanical dimensioning and design calculations.
Lead and coordinate group and external engineering partners in terms of time, cost and quality.
Development / implementation of best practices in design, ensuring its compliance with codes and norms (e.g. Machine Directive).
On site analysis / problem solving.

smoothly coordinate and interface with other disciplines, to ensure reaching the group goal of producing a comprehensive set of equipment-related documents including functional description.

maintains a mindset oriented towards development of assigned equipment, also by challenging the benchmarks.

commits to promptly undertake actions required to accomplish the given goals.

REQUIREMENTS

At least 5 years of mechanical engineering experience with a track record of increasing levels of complexity and responsibility.
Former experience in the field of steel industry (more specifically in hot rolling of long products) constitutes preference.
Experience in dimensioning components (e.g. through Finite Element analysis software such as Abaqus or calculation software such as Kissoft) and performing cycle-time / process calculations.
Advanced use of the main MS Office tools.
Demonstrate critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION :

Technical High School Diploma (Mechanical).
Mechanical engineering degree is welcomed.
Good spoken and written English language skills.

SOFT SKILLS

Team work:
ability to work with (and manage) people with different professional background, age and experience.

Availability to travel:

the role includes business trips, mainly abroad, whose duration is typically in the order of 2 weeks on irregular basis (a few times per year).
