Responsibilities:


Within GTPS, the TRA business line is responsible for designing, developing, promoting, and marketing the offer of products and services related to international trade guarantees.

GTPS TRA operates in 16 countries, via its sales teams located in Paris, in offices based in Europe, Asia and the USA and in the French Network's delegations.

The department also supports the trade teams of AFMO and EURO subsidiaries.

The V.I.E.

Trade Services Analyst will support the Trade Services team in the origination and execution of trade transactions and the development of trade finance solutions.

The role requires a strong client service orientation, operational and process knowledge, knowledge of regulatory and risk processes, analytical and communication skills as well as professional integrity at all times.

The V.I.E. reports hierarchically to the Head of the Middle Office GTB.

Products and services will include, amongst others:

  • International Guarantees
  • Import Letters of Credit
  • Export Letters of Credit
Support for Trade Sales Team in origination & execution of trade finance transactions from pre-closing to book-off:

  • Check the acceptability of the transaction and its feasibility in accordance with the credit line and internal procedures
  • Collect and review the consistency of the legal documentation related to RISQ approval and the conditions to be met
  • Monitor the implementation of the new credit lines based on RISQ approvals (facility, structure including sublimits, duration, etc.)
  • Execute compliance checks before the transactions and obtain upfront compliance approvals before processing a trade transactions
  • Ensure that cash collateral is set up, managed, and monitored if necessary
  • Analyze risks (credit risk, operational risks) throughout the life of portfolio transactions

Support in the International and Structured Guarantees:

  • Submit the guarantee wording to the back office
  • Check the indemnity letter and verify signatures and powers of attorney
  • Provide instructions to back offices for accounting purposes and regarding the amendments/tenor extensions of the guarantees in place
  • Administrative management of documentations (issue of the guarantee
The V.I.E.

will also have to manage guarantees on behalf of SG Paris or from Branches SG in particular as per the below:


  • Verify/prepare the text of the guarantee to be validated by the Legal Department
  • Check the receipt of commissions
  • Administrative management of documentation (issue of the guarantee)

Profile required:


Studies & experience:

  • Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Economics or Finance
  • A previous experience in Trade Finance would be appreciated

Language skills:

  • Fluent in English and in Italian (B2-C1)

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Proficient/Good command of MS Office (Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Good communication and presentation skills

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
