Maintains smooth operation of local area, world wide and virtual private networks (VPN). Plans, evaluates, and coordinates installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings. Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions. Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems. May coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment. May design network or portion of network that include selection of hardware and software packages.

This position can be filled at a level 3 or a level 4

This position will be a long-term expatriate opportunity. This position will include Flight Arrangement(s), Household Good Shipment, HOLA, COLA and other incentives for working this assignment overseas .

Basic Qualifications for a level 3

• Must have a minimum of 9 years experience with a HS Diploma/GED but would consider a Bachelor's Degree with 5 years experience
• Requires US or NATO Secret Clearance to start (Must be able to obtain a US Top Secret or NATO COSMIC within a year).
• Must be able to work any shift during 24 hour operations
• Using network management tools to monitor hardware devices, virtual machines, and network connections.
• Basic understanding of networking fundamentals and Cisco IOS commands
• Basic understanding of Linux/UNIX commands
• Configuring router and switch interfaces in accordance with written documentation
• Troubleshoot networking equipment, including switches, routers, Cisco Nexus/Catalyst switches, and firewalls
• Working knowledge of spanning trees, trunking, routing protocols, and IP subnetting
• Experience using Microsoft Windows, VMWare ESXi and/or Active Directory
• Experience with WANs, encryption devices, multicast, OSPF, and Wireshark
• Assisting Field Engineers with troubleshooting activities
• Effectively respond to work schedule changes as needed to support mission requirements
• Effectively communicate with a variety of military and government customers
• Work effectively in small teams
• Must display a high level of initiative, work well with others, and take ownership of problems and pro-actively work them to resolution
• Knowledge of Information Security best practices
• Proven track record of troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with SIPRNet, other DOD networks or NATO networks
• CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA certifications

• Must have a minimum of 13 years experience with a HS Diploma/GED but would consider a Bachelor's Degree with 9 years experience

• Must be able to work any shift during 24 hour operations
• Maintain technical expertise in diverse network and computer hardware and software areas, including interconnection and interfacing with various devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, gateways, etc
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot networking equipment, including switches, routers, and firewalls
• Working knowledge of spanning trees, trunking, routing protocols, and IP subnetting
• Demonstrated experience in the design and execution of network engineering configuration changes and documentation in a complex IT environment
• Must possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, excellent customer interface skills, be a quick learner, and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while maintaining a can-do attitude
• Experience with WANs, Cisco Nexus/Catalyst switches, encryption devices, multicast, OSPF, and Wireshark
• Familiarity with SIPRNet, DOD networks and/or NATO networks
• CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA/CCNP certifications
• Experience reviewing work products produced by a team of engineers for quality, completeness, and adherence to established procedures and policies
• Experience planning and supporting network infrastructure deployment are highly desired
• Produce designs including system, logical, and connectivity drawings, and conduct testing of network designs.
• Maintain technical expertise in diverse network and computer hardware and software areas, including interconnection and interfacing with various devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, gateways, etc
• Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance network capabilities
• Ability to read, understand, and execute detailed technical documentation such as checklists and operational procedures
• Knowledge of the Linux command line interface & standard toolsets
• Demonstrated experience in the design and execution of network engineering configuration changes and documentation in a complex IT environment
• Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers and independently on large field projects

Salary Range: $88,600 - $164,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
