- Industrial intermediates: As the product of a reaction that is beneficial when used as a precursor chemical for another product, industrial intermediates can take on many shapes and forms. Ours are used in home comfort and appliance, building and construction, adhesives and lubricants, and more.
- Coatings: Whether it's a water-based coating or solvent-based coating, a thin film is deposited on materials to enhance specific properties such as enhanced performance, durability, aesthetics, and sustainability.

- Synthesis of new polyols and backbones
- You are currently studying for a master's degree or equivalent in Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry or similar
- You have a good working knowledge of English
- Basic Knowledge of organic chemistry and polymer science

We are looking for you, an ambitious master's student (m/f), to support our Polyurethane R&D and TS&D organizations by doing an internship project on Polyurethane Fire reaction Improvement for our location in Correggio, Italy.

The department that will welcome you is the Global center of excellence for the development of Polyurethane technology and applications, dealing with a variety of different industries, such as Construction, Automotive, Furniture, and Infrastructure.
Project description
The project is relevant to the production of halogen-free fire-resistant polyurethane materials. EH&S regulation and sustainability standards require the development of a new toolbox, free of halogenated flame retardants while keeping high flammability standards.
Project Structure:
1. A literature review on polyurethane foams, flame retardants, and current approaches.
2. Development of a flame-retardant solution based on one of the following approaches:
3. Production of polyurethane foams using the newly developed solution (point 2)
4. Assessment of the fire performance of the polyurethane foam.
