WHAT TO EXPECT DAY TO DAY


We are a global business with a focus on international growth and expansion providing innovative solutions for the railway industry.

This role is intended to support with the Project Delivery of Camlin Rail's existing and new products as we develop our customer base and increase our market share.

It is a key role in ensuring we provide project management excellence throughout the customer's experience with Camlin Rail.

The aim is to build long term partnerships and relationships with our customers and this position will play a key role in facilitating this process.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project management planning, designing and coordination of global rail installations. The successful applicant would primarily be managing projects in
    Italy but will also be required to provide support for global installations.
  • Capturing and understanding customer requirements including but not limited to attending site surveys, taking measurements of railway infrastructure, preparing draft reports outlining suitability of rail products.
  • Attending customer design and programme meetings and presenting rail products requirements.
  • Building strong working relationships with all key stakeholders involved in the delivery of the projects.
  • Liaising with internal and external design teams, including R&D departments, contractors and design consultancies, ensuring product and project requirements are met.
  • Preparing project design documentation for handover to internal departments such as operations and field services.
  • Carry out technical and feasibility studies, preliminary, detailed and execution design, including technical drawings, preparation and submission of bill of quantities for project approval to railway customers.
  • Manage contracts, administrative and technical documentation, e.g. tender documentation, asbuilt documents, insurances, meeting minute, correspondence with customer project manager representatives via inbound and outbound OdS (ordini di servizio) as well.
  • Manage service level agreement requirements and ensure KPIs are met.
  • Prepare and keep up to date project H&S documentation (e.g. POS piano operativo della sicurezza etc.), quality documents, as well as detailed site activity planning prior for site activities.
  • Planning and scheduling of field service personnel, ensure that the assignment requirements are understood and met.
  • Assist field service personnel during execution of their assigned responsibilities and report lessons learnt to PM, production, quality and safety.
  • Drafting requirements for subcontractors to deliver turnkey installations.
  • Support Rail and other departments as required by the business unit.
  • The role is likely to require travel within Italy, Europe, and potentially globally to meet customers and carry out site visits.

YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Proficient (C1+) use, written and spoken, of English and Italian in relation with the nature of the duty.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in project management in engineeringbased environment.
  • Relevant engineering qualification to HND/Degree level.
  • Proven Engineering problem solving.
  • Experience reporting and liaising to senior management.
  • Strong communication skills with customers and the ability to communicate effectively in both Italian and English
  • Excellence producing project documentation.
  • Selfmotivated and able to motivate members of the team.
  • Very good command of AutoCAD.


  • IT literate

  • Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project.
  • Must have the ability to travel to meet customers and visit installation sites.
  • A clean current driving licence and access to a car is also essential.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in civil engineering, electrical engineering, or closely related discipline

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in asset monitoring/control systems would be an advantage.
  • Experience of railway environment.
  • Experience with public tenders.
  • Knowledge of fundamental elements of IT Networking.
  • Knowledge of a third EU language (German, French).
