We're hiring a
Project Manager
Learn how you can be our voice in the conversation about the future of agriculture.

You will be responsible for leading the Project Team in the use of the Project Execution Process (PEP) to implement the project.


Your Challenge:


  • Ensures the project scope of work is fully aligned with the Business Opportunity Plan/Business Objective Letter/White Paper and the project Technology Implementation Plan.
  • Manages project resources (both internal & contractors) as needed during the life of the project to meet the project objectives and execution strategy.
  • Assesses team functional capability. Identifies and resolves expertise gaps.
  • Project Design Review of all disciplines.
  • Works with the Capital Execution Leader and the core project team to develop the appropriate project execution strategy.
  • Leads the Project Team to meet the business & project objectives and deliverables as outlined in the Business Opportunity Plan/Business Objective Letter/White Paper, as well as authorization documents, Engineering Readiness Assessments and Gate Reviews.
  • Ensures the FEL process is followed consistent with the business needs, all required FEL deliverables are accomplished in an effective and quality manner.
  • Provides leadership for an effective and cohesive team by ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly understood, team member workloads are reasonable, crossfunction communications are adequate, for owner and contractor members. Engages outside consultants when needed to support the team.
  • Defines and analyzes Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to ensure overall performance expectations for the project are met:
  • Final project costs versus the BOL/White Paper cost estimate and each of the Gate Review cost estimates
  • Final project schedule versus BOL/White Paper schedule and each of the Gate Review project schedules
  • Provides primary interface between the Project Team and key stakeholders.
  • Establishes effective communications within the Project Team to ensure alignment among business and project objectives, as well as understanding and agreement with stakeholders on Risk Management Plan.
  • Develops a communication plan and reviews schedule with key stakeholders.
  • Communicates project status, risks, deviations and other significant project developments to the key stakeholders.

Key Stakeholders and Interactions:


  • Project Manager acts as the primary leader for the entire Project Team.
  • Manufacturing Representatives in Crop Protection and Maintenance Supervisors in Seeds the Project Manager will work with the Man. Rep(s) and Maintenance Supervisors on a continuous basis to ensure that the technology and operations expectations are well represented in the project.
  • Capital Execution Leader (CEL) the Project Manager works with the CEL to: prepare the project for Gate Reviews; develop the authorization strategy; develop the execution strategy; identify key business and engineering resources.
  • Technology Guardian in Seeds and Asset Technology Leader in Crop Protection the Project Manager will work with the Technology Personnel to understand the project opportunity and manage the transition from the improvement organization

Sonia:
Project process oriented and functional Leaders for others.

  • Technology Leader (e.g. Portfolio Technology Leader / F&P Leader / Seeds Technology Guardian Leader) the Project Manager will work with the appropriate Technology Leader to ensure the project scope and technology are properly identified and remain consistent with the Business Opportunity Plan or Business Objectives Letter/White Paper. The Project Manager will work with the Technology Leader throughout the project duration to ensure that the technology expectations are being met.
  • Production Leader the Production Leader is one of the key stakeholders for a Project Manager. The Project Manager interfaces with the Production Leader to help ensure that operations expectations and needs are understood and met.
  • EPCM contractor leadership and key project roles from that organization.
  • Others depending on the project, scope and site, the Project Manager may interface with many other stakeholders and roles. The following is a brief list of roles that may interact with a Project Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Site Safety Coordinator, Site Leader, EHS&S Leaders, Community Leaders.

Qualifications:

To Grow What Matters, You Will Need

  • 5 to 10 years' experience in project execution, depending on the type of experience and project size.
  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.
D. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent.

  • The individual must have leadership experience in two or more of the following areas: construction engineering, manufacturing/asset technology, operations, design engineering, process development (R&D), project management
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Cert
