    Job Description:
    The FAO is actively involved in UN country-level initiatives for achieving Sustainable Development Goals. As part of this, they are seeking a Data Specialist to support the technical aspects of human resource analytics and expertise in the context of Common Country Assessments and UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Frameworks at the country level.

    Reporting Lines
    The Data Specialist will report to the Regional Programme Leader (RPL) at the FAO Regional Office for Near East and North Africa (RNE) and the Director of the Statistics Division at FAO Headquarters.

    Technical Focus
    Under the guidance of the RPL and ESS Director, the Data Specialist will coordinate technical support on data and indicators for the CCA/UNSDCF analytical support mechanism and its alignment with Country Programming Frameworks.

    Tasks and Responsibilities
    • Support the development of the State of agri-food systems data platform for FAO country offices
    • Identify statistical domains and sources for country situation analysis
    • Assist in data maintenance and updating
    • Provide technical support to FAO country representatives
    • Contribute to policy documents and publications

    Candidates will be assessed against the following:
    Minimum Requirements
    • University degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, or related fields
    • At least five years of relevant experience in the Near East region
    • Proficiency in English and intermediate knowledge of another FAO official language
