Job Description Summary:
The SPOCTHE (System Performance Operability Control Transient and Hybrid-Electric) Leader will join the AMBER Systems team within the Advanced Technology Operations section.
AMBER is the new hybrid-electric technology demonstration program that will integrate the Catalyst engine with electrical power from fuel cells.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead the coordination of Performance, Controls, Operability & Transient disciplines to ensure all aspects of the propulsion system are integrated and meet the demonstration objectives
- Ensure the operability and transient response of gas turbine and hybrid electric branch are integrated, ensuring the system operates satisfactorily during demonstrations
- Own the integrated SPOCT plan/schedule evolution that meets the program timeline and objectives
- Work with the AMBER Systems organization to ensure the program meets the execution and technical objectives defined on time and budget
- Contribute to the definition and completeness of the requirements for the program and system specification, owning the definition, tracking, flowdown and validation of SPOCT requirements
- Contribute to the technologies and maturation roadmap of AMBER, ensuring proper validation means for the SPCTHE area are planned and executed
- Lead and support technical and program reviews
- Present the results and findings to wide audiences from technical experts to executive leadership
- Ensure compliance with best practices and processes
- Ensure proper documentation of all work
Qualifications/Requirements
- Significant experience on Steady state and transient performance, controls, and operability of gas turbine engines
- Experience on electrical systems performance and operation
- Experience in Product Development of complex products/systems in very early phases from conceptual level through New Product Introduction phase
- Familiarity with Research and Technology development processes
- Passionate about Aviation products and innovation
- Master's Degree in Engineering from an accredited University
- Fluency in English
- Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required.
Desired Characteristics
- Aircraft integration and aircraft requirements management experience
- Experience in different gas turbine modules/disciplines and systems engineering
- Experience with sensors and actuators response and operation
- Practical knowledge of sustainabilitydriven technologies for aviation (hybridelectric systems, Hydrogen, SAF,)
- Can do attitude capable to manage uncertainty and changing environments
- Experience working with crossfunctional teams in a multinational environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
