Job Description Summary:

At Avio Aero, a GE Aviation Business unit, we've been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years.

We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.


The Lean Manufacturing Specialist will be responsible for Lean Transformation Plan in assigned business/Functions, driving the required cultural change in association with Senior leadership.

You will have comprehensive knowledge of underlying principles, approaches and methodology.

You will also have the ability to document the current and plan for the future Value Stream Map, driving the transformation in the frame of Policy Deployment (aka Hoshin Kanri).


Essential Responsibilities:


  • Be partner of business Leader in the Lean transformation journey
  • Drive & foster a Continuous improvement culture, where the whole team owns transformation plan
  • Lead complex & interfunctional improvement projects with a goal of enhanced performance
  • Constantly seek, share, and implement best practices
  • Provide leadership and direction to crossfunctional team empowered to execute the Lean strategy for process improvement
  • Ability to document current and plan for future Value Stream Map, presents projects plans, technical roadmaps, risks and recommendations to senior business leaders
  • Communicates solutions across the own function and with crossfunctional partner organizations
  • Facilitate, train, and coach other team members in the use of Lean tools
  • Will be GEAPS advocate in the Area assigned, in order to drive adoption & cultural evolution

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace or Industrial)
  • Previous experience in operational or technical roles in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong relationship & leadership skills: able to influence, motivate and work effectively within a matrix environment
  • Fluency in Italian and English
  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

Desired characteristics:


  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
  • Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing
  • Black Belt Certification
