- Collaborating with the Global Team Manager to establish software/hardware requirements from the ground up, providing valuable support to the application software development team with a key focus on high-level software aspects.
- Leading the design of software architecture based on requirements and testing outcomes.
- Enhancing existing coding and documentation standards while encouraging team members to adhere to these guidelines.
- Offering continuous support and mentoring to technical team members.
- Creating high-quality unit tests and gradually building a comprehensive testing repository.
- Undertaking tasks that align with the overall roadmap for all software and hardware development related to Chiller controls solutions.
- Devising strategies to identify and rectify software bugs and faults through thorough root cause analysis and rigorous testing.
- Conducting prototyping, application tests, and code reviews to ensure top-notch product quality.
- Collaborating with customer service and quality analysis teams to enhance products, keeping them updated to meet evolving customer needs.
- Assisting in the planning, engineering, programming, and commissioning of complex controls equipment, ensuring smooth equipment buy-offs in both factory and field settings by working closely with service and production teams.
- Coordinating troubleshooting of advanced SW and HW issues alongside development teams using appropriate methodologies.
- Developing training materials for maintenance and production teams, simplifying the operation and troubleshooting of sophisticated control systems.
- Designing control applications based on specified requirements and specifications.
- Understanding the requirements for GUI/communication interfaces and networking to create corresponding specifications.
- Tackling issues with existing systems and engaging in technical writing, including Software Sequence of Operation (SOO) or technical specifications.
- Participating in requirement reviews and collaborating with Systems Engineering or Internal Stakeholders to ensure accurate feature implementation.
- Ensuring compliance with company safety protocols and embodying the organizational culture of integrity and professional competence.
- Providing timely and detailed status updates while upholding standards in a regulated, process-focused environment.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study OR possess an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience.
- Bring several years of project experience in controls and automation equipment, encompassing development, programming, debugging, support, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Chillers and HVAC applications, with proven experience in common compressor technologies, notably Inverter and Centrifugal.
- Possess familiarity with Programming Logic Controllers according to IEC standards or similar guidelines.
- Ideally, exhibit basic proficiency in other programming and scripting languages (C/C++, C#, Javascript, HTML) even in an academic context.
- Show expertise in troubleshooting control system issues and experience in prototype start-up, troubleshooting, and laboratory validation.
- Have proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy.
- Display awareness of software version-control systems (Git, GitHub, perforce).
- Possess strong written and oral communication skills in English.
- Be a proactive self-starter, team player, with a positive attitude who can collaborate effectively with others.
