About The Role:

This role reports to the Pre-Harvest Lead and is accountable for supporting Pre Harvest activities in Europe, specifically in Italy (Smart Monitoring, Crop Estimation, Maturity Clearances, and Residue program).

Accountabilities:

Crop estimation

In collaboration with the Zespri Supply Partners, communicate timelines and templates and report the crop estimate data from OP's
Support the crop estimation analysis data.

Maturity clearances for harvest in Italy

Support the Fruit Performance Lead to ensure effective collection and sampling and reporting are coordinated across Europe
Coordinate with Pre Harvest Lead to ensure effective residue collection and sampling and reporting are coordinated with the clearance process

Residue program

Support the execution of the preseasonal residues programs
Support the execution of the seasonal programs
Assist the Markets Access blocks systems across the supply chain

Smart Monitoring program

Ensure effective selection and visible maintenance of Smart Monitoring orchards
Support analysis of data to Pre and Post Harvest stakeholders promptly
Support the communication with growers and suppliers, as required

Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in Applied Sciences or equivalent experience
Valid Driving License (Clean)
Fluency in English and in Italian. French is an advantage but not required
Experience in horticulture operations is an advantage
Tertiary qualified in biological or applied sciences or an understanding of entomology, plant pathology and plant physiology preferred
Ability to gather information and analyze data
Intermediate computer skills (Word, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint)
Flexibility to travel to locations around Europe, and internationally as required
