Buyer:


As Buyer, you will work inside the purchasing department and this role requires a significant amount of technical knowledge and experience relative to purchasing strategies and negotiation capability in order to ensure that project or company's objectives are achieved (time to market, time to volume, initial samples on time, right first time).


A day in life:


  • Scouting, searching and contacting suppliers on domestic and foreign markets
  • Promote cost reduction initiatives
  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to perform vendor source inspections to development vendors and to support corrective actions, including the management of discrepant material return process.
  • Analyzes the requirements of the products required including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date product is needed.
  • Cooperate with Engineering and Quality to issue RFQs to inquiry the supplier base
  • Investigates and/or interviews potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
  • Assures that the product is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company.
  • Meets with suppliers to discuss contracts, negotiate prices, leadtime, non quality costs, open order status, etc.
  • Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the product balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
  • Manage the assigned commodity and define the strategy in line with company's target
  • Monitor technology tendencies of the assigned commodity to better support internal innovation and product development
  • Elaborate a strategy for the assigned commodity based on projects and Company's targets

Must have:


  • Knowledge of purchasing/accounting interactions
  • Experience on product development requirements in APQP
  • Willing to follow and get updated on technical developments and innovation for the assigned commodity
  • Ability to interpret and negotiate complex agreements
  • Ability to interface effectively with suppliers and internal customers
  • Good knowledge of English (written and spoken)

Nice to have:


  • Proficiency on using SAP
  • Relevant industrial/engineering degree is preferred
  • Familiar with the main functions of electronic components
