  • JOB SCOPE AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leveraging on all opportunities that the eyewear and sunglasses category offers, the Retail Merchandiser will oversee the definition of the Merchandise and Product Strategy, from the Store Segmentation and Facings Strategy through the brand portfolio management with the goal of increasing facing and brand productivity and turnover the market/retail banner she/he manages.
  • She/He will manage the relationship with all our local team partners as well as all internal cross-functional stakeholders to support the growth of the business through an appropriate assortment strategy that reflects the banner mission and positioning.
  • AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES:
  • Cooperate with merchandise financial planning and local finance teams on budget creation, providing clear guidelines on brand mix and AUR, sustained by consumerdriven assortment strategies (target on relevant product attributes, i.e. lens treatments to support further business growth of the category).
  • Support central buying activities based on GTM calendar, in liaise with Category Management, planning teams, ensuring global consistency in product flow and seasonal trends to drive sales growth

Including the following:

  • Define Open to assort by brand and cluster
  • Set productive attribute guidelines to balance the assortment
  • Present NPI selection and buying debriefing to General Manager and local team (based on input of Global Category team)
  • Support the creation of a coherent customer experience instore, by partnering with Space Management / VM, Marketing and local assortment execution:
  • Driving storytelling to support assortment and VM strategy
  • Partnering with the marketing team (local and corporate) in the definition of the marketing visibility defining the right range of product to be included in the visibility with a special attention to SGH exclusivity
  • Provide products hindsight to Global Category Management team with relevant feedback on markets and specific product customers' needs, with the goal of influencing product development.
  • Collect promotional calendar from the local team, validate it based on guidelines and submit to senior management for final approval
  • Business & Product Review:
  • Create weekly sell out reports monitoring key retail kpi by market/banner
  • Attend Monthly Product Reviews, driving attention of key stakeholders
  • General Manager, finance, marketing, and planning team on brand/ product trends, specific product performance and any front door/marketing initiatives with a productrelated impact; proposing actions to support the sales growth
  • NETWORK OF INTERACTION:
  • INTERNAL : Market strategy leaders, Local Assortment execution, Merchandise Financial Planning, Space Management/VM, Category Management, Assortment Planning, Marketing team (corporate and local), Brand Management and NPI team
  • EXTERNAL : Store Managers/Field/Retail GM's
  • TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • PORTRAIT OF A PERFECT CANDIDATE
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent;

Educational Background:
Economics or similar

  • 510 years of experience in buying & merchandising with the management of core categories in Retailoriented companies
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills alongside commercial attitude
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound datadriven decisions to lead the market/banner
  • Good knowledge of brand and product across Luxury and Fashion industry
  • Excellent product sensibility and ideally knowledge of accessories' market trends
  • Fluent in German is a must
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English and fluency in Italian would be a plus
