To act as a personal representative of the hotel by providing guests with the service that reflects the high standards of the Royal York when seating, serving and greeting guests.
You are the first and last person the guest encounters during their dining experience, therefore, your professionalism is essential in accurately portraying the service excellence of the hotel and restaurant.
To report to duty punctually, in order to maintain the integrity of co-workers and guestsTo consistently offer personal and friendly serviceTo have full knowledge of the menu, beverage lists in your outlet and all other special promotions taking place in the hotelTo ensure that the host stand is kept neat and clean at all timesTo have a complete understanding of your daily duties (seating and greeting guests, accurately taking reservations, handling phones, menu changeovers, newspaper pickup, checking mail, filing log book entries etc.)To efficiently track all covers in the dining room per station and have general knowledge of the union agreementTo help guests meet their colleagues by properly using the waiting list formTo attend all pre-shift, weekly and monthly meetings to ensure open lines of communication between all employeesTo actively participate in the health and safety procedures as a way to reduce workplace related accidentsTo have read and understood all hotel policies and procedures and departmental standards as outlined in the employee handbookTo carry out any miscellaneous duties pertaining to the total operation of the outlet as requested by your direct supervisorTo feel comfortable with voicing opinions, suggestions and comments on improving the operation of the Restaurant and ways to improve the guests experienceTo maintain teamwork and good work ethics with all guest (internal and external) by assisting co-workers with any duties, without compromising the guests' dining experienceTo complete all duties assigned to you before leaving for the dayTo communicate effectively with the servers regarding reservations, last minute changes, larger parties and special requestsTo offer guests coat check when necessary and retrieve guest coats when departingTo inform guests of departmental promotions Qualifications Previous work experience in a restaurant/food and beverage settingExcellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitudeMulti tasked when dealing with high volume of guest requests Additional Information Visa Requirements:
