About the role

We are looking for a Group UW Leader who could work with different distribution channels, and develop different solutions for the Group A&H market.

The responsibilities for this role include:

Direct accountability for the underwriting with respect to profitability and loss ratio for the A&H Group products
Responsible for analyzing risk and underwriting of following products: A&H Employee Benefits, Group Health and Group Specialty
Holds greater underwriting authority and handles larger accounts and/or more complex risks
Provides technical direction to underwriters and manages the underwriting team directly reporting to her/him
Responsible for the quality of the underwriting practice, risk selection and pricing performance of the products
Jointly responsible with product management for the achievement of growth objectives for the products
Implement and execute on underwriting best practices and guidelines to ensure rating and pricing adequacy for the products
Support the development of new products and/or product enhancements. Create and/or approve policy wording including terms, conditions and limits
Reviews new and renewal business submissions, evaluating account performance and risk factors
Documents underwriting files according to established guidelines
Ensures the quality of the underwriting practice and adheres to Best Practices and underwriting policies, guidelines and procedures
Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external business partners
Contribute to continuous improvement of the underwriting process (service levels, turn times, error rates, customer experience, and underwriting leakage)
Communicates with producers and clients to ensure common understanding of terms, conditions and ratings, and quotations; and resolves procedural and computational problems of involved, lengthy, multilocation, or difficult risks
Maintains effective producer and client relationships

What we're looking for:

Preferred technical underwriting experience with Personal Accident insurance products
Knowledge of market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition and multiple distribution systems
Analytical and quantitative skills
Process and system skills
Strong customer service ethic, with a sound understanding of the business processes
Aware of legal and regulatory requirements
Strong presentation, prioritization, and time management
Good level of English and Fluent in Italian
Strong execution and results orientation
Strong communication (oral and written) and influencing skills and proven ability to collaborate and work across multiple areas of the organization
Proven ability to build strong relationships with producer, clients and colleagues
Bridge skill gaps for team members
Able to manage and motivate a group of people with a strong orientation to results
