    Organizational Description:

    FAO's Human Resources Division (CSH) offers HR strategies, policies, and guidance to ensure a diverse, skilled, and motivated workforce. The division focuses on a people-centered approach and aims to be a strategic partner in fulfilling FAO's mandate.

    Reporting Structure:

    The Human Resources Officer reports to the Senior Human Resources Officer under the overall guidance of the Deputy Director.

    Technical Focus:

    The Human Resources Officer coordinates talent acquisition and management activities, ensuring compliance with HR policies for recruitment, selection, and staff development.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide comprehensive HR expertise for HR programs and services.
    • Lead projects and work teams, analyze HR data, and provide specialist advice to designated units.
    • Develop and implement HR policies, systems, and tools to manage the workforce effectively.
    • Plan workshops, enhance staff capacity, and evaluate HR programs.

    Specific Functions:

    • Oversee talent acquisition and management, develop staffing strategies, and ensure quality control in recruitment activities.
    • Contribute to HR policies development, liaise with external sources, and research UN entities' practices for innovative approaches.
    • Identify training needs, develop guidance documents, and monitor technological tools in HR management.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Advanced degree in human resources management or related field.
    • Seven years of HR management experience with talent acquisition focus.
    • Proficiency in English and at least one other FAO official language.

    Technical Skills:

    • Experience in HR planning, talent management, and policy implementation.
