- Installation and Maintenance: Install, inspect, and maintain HVAC systems, including heating units, air conditioners, ventilation fans, and associated components.
- Repairs: Diagnose and repair malfunctioning HVAC systems and components, including replacing defective parts and performing routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
- Calibration: Adjust and calibrate HVAC controls to optimize system performance and ensure energy efficiency.
- Ductwork: Install, repair, or replace ductwork, as necessary, to ensure proper airflow and distribution of heated or cooled air.
- Testing: Conduct tests and inspections to evaluate HVAC system performance and identify potential issues.
- Emergency Response: Be on call for emergency repairs, especially in extreme weather conditions, and respond promptly to minimize downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including service reports, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, as well as industry standards, such as refrigerant handling guidelines.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers to explain maintenance procedures, address concerns, and provide recommendations for system improvements.
- Upgrades and Retrofits: Recommend and assist in the installation of energy-efficient HVAC equipment and systems to enhance energy savings and reduce environmental impact.
- High school diploma or equivalent (HVAC certification or relevant technical degree is a plus).
- HVAC certification or relevant licensing as required by state or local regulations.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical systems, and electrical components.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
